Lieutenant Commander Bridges is the founder and principal owner of CB Design Group, Inc., and serves as the firm’s president and chief executive officer. He is a talented, versatile architect with 20 years of experience in all phases of design and construction of complex public projects.
Lieutenant Commander Bridges is a dual warfare qualified CEC officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He has been mobilized to active duty three times, having served in Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005), Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom (2010), and Haiti for Joint Task Force Matthew (2016). He is currently serving as the Executive Officer for Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 14. He is committed to creating functional and inspiring spaces for his fellow veterans and their families and to providing excellent service to his clients, community, and country.
Ken Jones, AIA, LEED AP
Vice President / Director of Architecture
Mr. Jones has 25 years of experience in the design and management of complex institutional projects, including government, military, academic, libraries, laboratories, office buildings, and secure facilities. He has helped accomplish projects through construction management, general contracting, and design-build delivery methods.
Mr. Jones is responsible for overseeing the design and production process at CB Design Group. He is committed to collaborating with clients to learn and understand their unique internal processes to guide the development of design solutions that support the organization’s mission.
Joseph L. Herman, AIA, LEED AP
CDR, CEC, USN
Commander Herman leads and manages the architectural efforts of CB Design Group’s Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, office. He has more than 20 years of diverse and successful architectural experience in the healthcare, secondary education, higher education, commercial, and residential markets.
As an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, Commander Herman brings a great deal of knowledge and leadership to his work. He served in the Gulf Coast for Joint Task Force Katrina (2005), in Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom (2008), and in Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom (2013). He is committed to excellence in every aspect of serving his country, his community, and his clients.
Matthew P. Gachi, CFP®, AIF®
Director of Business Operations
Mr. Gachi is responsible for overseeing and advising the leadership team of CB Design Group on various operations of the firm that are not technical in nature. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business, he proudly served as both an enlisted sailor and an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
Mr. Gachi served in 2005 and 2010 in Operation Enduring Freedom. In Afghanistan, he served as the supply officer for a Naval Mobile Construction Battalion. Mr. Gachi completed the Navy’s supply and logistics school as its honor graduate in 2008. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation, and is a member of the advisory committee and former chairman of the board for Homes for the Brave, a community-based organization dedicated to providing housing, vocational training, life skills coaching and more to veterans.
